The first step is to review the State Board of Education’s (SBOE’s) review and adoption process. Materials cannot be accepted for consideration unless the SBOE has specifically called for materials for the intended subject area and grade level or course. If the SBOE has issued a proclamation calling for those materials, the next step is to visit the Publisher Portal to review the proclamation and resources, such as the recorded webinars, Publisher Handbook, and Questions and Answers document. You should review the deadlines and deliverables in the adoption timeline and submit a Company Information Form and Statement of Intent to Bid by the deadline established in the proclamation. Only those that file a Company Information Form and Statement of Intent to Bid by the deadline will be allowed to participate in the proclamation. If the subject area and grade level or course is not included in the current proclamation, review the adoption cycle to identify the next time the SBOE is scheduled to call for new materials for that subject area and subscribe to the review and adoption listserv to stay informed.
